Attic Insulation in Charlotte, North Carolina

  1. High energy bills–If your utility bills skyrocket in the summer or winter, this could be due to poor attic insulation. Oftentimes, this occurs because the attic in your insulation has shifted and is letting hot or cool air through the roof of your home, a process which makes your HVAC system have to work harder to keep your home at a consistent temperature.
  2. Animal infestation–Squirrels, rats, mice, bats, and other critters that make a home for themselves in your attic can ruin the insulation. If you recently evicted some critters from your attic that have damaged the insulation, make sure you replace it as soon as possible.
  3. Changing indoor temperature–Your attic insulation should probably be replaced if the temperature in your home is constantly changing, even though you keep your thermostat consistent. Shifting indoor temperatures are a sign that the insulation in your attic is inadequate, and the outdoor weather is creeping into your home.
  4. Wet insulation– If the insulation in your attic becomes sopping wet or even just damp or moist, you need to replace it. The absence of vapor barriers, a leaky roof, or blocked vents are all things that can result in your attic insulation getting wet and ruined.
